Alice Aycock is a sculptor who builds "large semi-architectural
projects which deal with the interaction of structure, site, materials,
and the psychophysical responses of the viewer; for instance,
claustrophobia/claustrophilia and vertigo. They are involved with both
experimental and remembered time."
Aycock makes drawings for all planned pieces and has also shown these
separately. Considered one of the major sculptors and conceptual artists
of the last two decades, many of her early site-specific sculptures
deal with the relationship of art and the environment.
