Tidal Pool

Jane Goldman is experienced in a wide range of media including: watercolor, oils, intaglio, lithography, woodcut, and screenprinting. Her print Tidal Pool, packed with leafy, organic layers of color and depth are inspired by her experiences in Ballycastle, Ireland, where she spent recent summers. Intrigued by the scenic landscape and the beautiful tidal pools filled with an abundant assortment of marine life, she translated these compositions into her own on paper, combining her impulse and direct observation. In response to this new subject matter, her style, which she calls "lyrical realism," became more flowing and abstract, with greater emphasis on color and form.
