Santiago Moix divides his time between New York and Barcelona, Spain
and works in a vein that recalls the styles of some of the great Spanish
artists such as Picasso and Miro. At first glance, his prints are merely
charming-they don't reveal their subtler pleasures unless coaxed from the
storybook realm in which their code of representation is safely hidden away.
Cinco Dias en Madison is a series of eight woodcuts, all featuring
fantastical animals and humans in a surreal landscape.
The dark brown figures are boldly contrasted from the pale green
background.
